LLADRÓ INSPIRES PALACIO VALLIER, THE NEW FIVE-STAR HOTEL

Lladró provided the decorative inspiration for the new five-star hotel Palacio Vallier, recently opened in the center of Valencia. The decoration of this listed building dating from the mid-nineteenth century reflects its original luxury and exclusiveness. In fact, two of the rooms in the hotel have been named Suite Lladró and Lladró Lounge Bar. The suite, in other times a ballroom, is now a room for holding exclusive events with the splendor of baroque coffered ceilings, wall tapestries, ceiling roses, molding … a surrounding in which Lladró lamps and sculptures shine with a light of their own. Meanwhile. the Lladró Lounge Bar, inspired by American cocktail bars from the 1930s, is a more informal setting in which daring Lladró sculptures and the warm light of its table lamps create a relaxed atmosphere.

Creations from Lladro’s lighting collection once again featured prominently in many of the projects on display at this year’s Casa Decor, Spain’s largest showcase for contemporary design held in Madrid. Lamps in the Nightbloom collection, designed for Lladró by Marcel Wanders, formed a key part of the space titled Be My Guest, conceived by Ana María Fernández from Nometri, while lamps from the Jamz collection, adorned the space conceived by Alberto Aranda. Lladró also provided a selection of its creations to other spaces as part of its ongoing rapport with leading brands and designers.

    The Villa Magalean hotel in Hondarribia, the picturesque town in the heart of the Basque Country in the north of Spain, has chosen the Belle de Nuit lighting collection for its decoration.

    This boutique hotel, situated in a newly refurbished and extended mansion house from the 1950s, has opted for an interior style which weds the aesthetic of the mid-twentieth century with contemporary objects which foreground craftsmanship and local know-how.

    In this context the lamps from the Belle de Nuit collection are a differentiating element which, in addition, afford a warm light that can only be obtained with porcelain.
